I have my library set up in 4 different sections, Kids movide, TV, HD Movies & Documentaries. with a couple thousand media files, it would be nice to browse a section and be able to move lets say an animated film from HD movies to Kids movies. As plex has evolved over the last couple years I have changed the way my movies are stored & added / organized my library differently. It can at time be very difficult and time consuming to go though all the files and folders on my unraid server to move them around to my different section folders. It would be nice to filter my “HD Movies” lets say, by a type, or genre , be able to click to move them to a different section.
This is so funny, as I was about to post the same request! I move movies all around, and it would be awesome if I could just do that within Plex, please add this!
Since sections are solely based on the location (and nature) of a file, it would make a huge mess to cross the source folders for this feature. As an alternative, this would have to include PMS moving a file to a certain folder. Now, the thing is that most users have more than one source folder specified, and what mess would that cause!
The way the manager works at the moment (and the foreseeable future) I’m pretty sure there won’t be an option anytime soon to implement this.
I would love this as well.
Actually, I foresee having some kind of integration with DVDFAB.
The movie would be placed in a temporary holding directory.
Then the user would have the ability to move the movie to whatever folder they want.
It would also be nice if the movie information was stored with the movie, so when it moved, there wouldn’t be a need to rescan it.
Anything to make the system simpler for a more novice user.
maybe this feature-request could help, if PLEX decide to implement it.
