Hi all,
Just ran out of space on my hard drive and usually have this problem when getting ready to go on a trip!
Needed to change the location of the downloads folder to my storage drive, but there was no native way to do it. Please add this functionality.
For those interested, there is a work around…see this thread:
The new Windows app is great, however I can’t change the Downloads location for offline viewing. The previous Windows app (Windows Store) had the option and it looks like it may have been removed.
Cheers!

Simple idea, I’d like to be able to set the download location on my Windows client. Even something similar to the Storage Location in the android app would be a plus. Setting a specific directory would be even better.
A common theme seems to be “there is a Symbolic Link work around” with the reply “I’m not interested in doing a Symbolic Link”.
I can think of many reasons this would be useful- Data partition vs boot partition, external media, better control of what drive is undergoing large amount of writes, easier management of backup set sizes.
Linking in a few of the top search results I found on this topic. Seems to crop up fairly regularly.
I must be going blind, for the life of me I am unable to find the option in the new plex for windows app where I can specify where to save the video files I download. This was an integrated feature in the old Plex Windows Store app,
I have no interest in setting symbolic links in my operating system. this is a basic operational need for many people,

Hiya,
Love the Plex player (using the android and Windows apps), but I’m missing a huge option…
How/where/when do I change the download location? I’ve bought the lifetime Plexpass and the only solution (ish) so far is to go into windows command prompt and MLINK it to another folder… which would be fine, if not that there’s no uniform way to do it. Some say symbolic/soft link, some hard link, and some with a directory junction… like I don’t have enough hobbies yet?!
So, is there an option in t…
I downloaded the new app to replace the Microsoft Store version on my Surface Pro.
Besides the obvious issues with lack of being touch friendly, the biggest issue so far is, I want to download to my SD card not to my drive. I often download large amounts for travel, which is why I have the SD card. I cannot find a setting to change the download location in the new app, am I missing it?

I hate to vote for feature that was there - and then removed… but apparently this is the only way stuff gets done here…
I will add that there should be different local download locations for Music, Movies, Photos etc.
