Hopefully this will be coming now that they finally upgraded the EPG system to handle multiple different listings.

I definitely want to see TVE added to Plex. I was very surprised when I discovered it wasnât supported. So I am still stuck with having two systems for my media entertainment. Plex for everything else. And Channels for DVR because the good people at Plex left out a no brainer from their otherwise awesome DVR.

I recently opened a new thread (Why Doesnât Plex Support Respond To TV Everywhere Support Requests) and Their response doesnât sound too good. All Plex Pass members should show their support for they added functionality instead of some of the dumb âfree Live TVâ addonâs they are adding.
Sure, add it to the âLive TVâ feature but donât add it to âLive TV & DVRâ it already has enough problems.
Iâd be curious to know if theyâd have to rework the DVR system in order to add this. From what I can tell Plex has one of the most complicated methods of recording out of all the competition.
I wonder if it would even work as is with anything other than a broadcast transport stream.
Iâm just speculating.
A few years ago, Plex offered a streaming service that had most of the same channels that most âLive TVâ services like YouTube TV, Sling, and others offer today. I currently subscribe to Vidgo for my âLive TVâ service, and because they donât currently have DVR capability or the ability to customize their guide, I use Channels Plus DVR system to get by these limitations. I use Channels DVR to record my âLive TVâ streaming channels, and to create customized channel guides.
Maybe Plex should look into partnering with Vidgo to provide a âLive TVâ streaming service like they did a few years ago. This would be a âwin-winâ stations for both.
They need to rework the entire DVR system anywaysâŠits complete garbage.
