Feature Request: Advanced User Management

One thing that is seriously lacking in Plex is advanced user management. I feel like there could be a number of improvements here.

  1. Non Managed user accounts should be isolated so they only see their own user account when logging in to Plex server:

There is really no reason why user A should be able to see or login to user B-F’s accounts. Having a pin is alright but can get annoyingly tedious to deal with especially when you have to remember multiple pins for kids. There should be an option to isolate user accounts that can be toggled on/off.

  1. Allow/block list based off ratings or title:

For those of us with kids we want to be able to control what they watch. I know you can not share libraries to specific accounts but not everything in let’s say my Movies and TV shows library is inappropriate for kids. It would be nice to be able to block out “Two and a Half Men” while leaving access to “Full House”

  1. Creating user Groups:

This would piggy back off of suggestion 2. It would be nice to be able to setup ratings or a block/allow list and assign it to a group. That way the process would not need to be repeated multiple times.

This is already the case.
Don’t add them into your Plex Home, but follow only the instructions laid down here: https://support.plex.tv/articles/201105738-creating-and-managing-server-shares/

OttoKerner, this is awesome information, thank you. Can this be accomplished after a user has been created or do I need to delete and reinvite external users?

Just remove them from your Plex Home by clicking the X. they won’t be removed from the list of friends you are sharing libraries with.

Thank you @BigWheel and @OttoKerner , this helped immensely and I see where I went wrong. This takes care of most of what I suggested. I still believe that suggestion 3 of my post has some merit.

Yes, but it has already been requested.
