I think it would be a great idea, if you get a notification when the Server is up and running.
At least on IOS and Android Smartphone if the app is installed, of Course.
Simple notifcation:
-Server is up and running (To Clients app) - Nick
-Server is down (notification for PMS owner) - Otto [Mod-Edit: duplicate]
A plex app running in the background to check if PMS is up?

don´t know if it needs another app for this. But ist should be possible like a push notification in the Background.
When you start PMS the machine calls home and so Plex do know what Clients you use and can notify them.
Or PMS ask by starting up Plex HQ what Clients are connected to the PMS.
i am quite sure that this is possible, because in my Clients under authorized devices there Always is “Last seen” like for 5min but when I ask the user he didn´t use the app at this time.
So I guess there is some pinging to Clients->PMS or PMS->PLEX->Clients. Or the other way around.
Would be convenient when PMS is up and running that you receive a meesage.
Why would you need a notification when the server is up and running?
Just open the app and start streaming.
Much more interesting would be a notification for the sevrer owner when the server is down, IMHO.
Because my Server isn´t running 24/7 or so. I often have to write or call: " I call/write again when the Server is up and running fine"
All kind of notification would be fine and shouldn´t be that hard to implement.

2021 clean-up: as for the “server down” alerts… there’s an existing feature suggestion covering this. Therefore I suggest to focus this request on the remaining scope in order to avoid overlapping and in consequence distracting/dispersing of votes.
