I would prefer "max concurrent connections", not "max devices". This way, if a user shares his account with another friend, he is shooting himself in the foot by locking himself out. This as a result of his friend that is being logged in and blocking the one connection he is entitled to.
Anyone think authorization by device id or mac address would be good? If a device tries to connect you would get an alert and you can then deny or authorize it to connect to your server. The only way they would be able to share their account would be if they loaned their device.
I would also like this feature. I have a few friends that have shared their account with family members and now I am getting 2-3 streams from one account at the same time.
Another +1 to this request. I've understand the responses from those who say "just pull the account from friends who share", but this feature would make management immensely easier! In addition, as stated above, It seems like it would also encourage people to purchase the Plex App on devices instead of just sharing one account around!
I've instituted a "no sharing" policy with zero tolerance - anyone I catch sharing accounts gets disabled immediately, but I would love to not have to take such a stance at all by having this feature. It would be nice to not have to run my Plex server like the dictatorship of a small country.
