Feature Request; DLNA client
I know Plex is a DLNA server, but please provide a DLNA client in plex too. The reason being is that my Panasonic Viera TV can stream live tv from its spare Tuners (DTV & Satellite) via DLNA and it would be great to use PLEX to view those streams around the home especially on TV’s that don’t have satellite tuners.

Stop being cheap and buy a proper client. DLNA sucks, period. That said, you can enable DLNA in the server end and have it play using a file browser on your TV.
No, no a thousand times NO. Not only should Plex never even attempt a DLNA client they should remove DLNA from the server. It is just overhead and extra code that only serves a very small and dwindling minority of users and does not serve them very well at all.
There are so many regular Plex clients, many quite inexpensive, that work with virtually all display devices that using DLNA’s limited functionality is simply a bad idea.
DLNA was/is a good idea that has gone quite horribly wrong in its implementation. It should die a quick and through death so it dose not pollute media streaming with its weaknesses.

I’m glad your use cases have been met by the current platform. My panasonic vierra and bluray player do not have plex apps for them and panasonic will likely never have a plex app. We have been asking for years with no app in site. Both the tv and player have DLNA clients and work fine for watching plex without an additional player with its additional remote.
I’m not being cheap, i have appletv’s and roku’s with plex apps for streaming. As i mentioned in my first post (did either of you bother to read it), i want to view the output from the DLNA server on my tv on my other plex devices, this includes recordings made by the tv to its local storage.
If you want to be mildly helpful you could suggest some media player appliances that have DLNA clients, else your no help here (my politest way of putting it).

Since this is the “general” discussion section and most Plex users have a device with a Plex player app, you will probably find more users with knowledge of and a desire to use DLNA by posting in the DLNA section of the forum.

i’m totally agree with, i have a slimier issue,
as i;m using Plex as DLNA server installed on my Western digital Home cloud
and unfortunate i’m not able to use my DLNA which is pre installed with my LG smart TV, as its not able to render subtitles in it
so i was thinking if Plex got a DLNA client as it supports subtitle perfect
