Note: Based on my prior “question” thread here (https://forums.plex.tv/discussion/297157/how-do-i-get-the-asterisk-button-on-the-roku-remote-to-go-to-the-plex-settings-popup), it’s unclear whether this is a Roku or a Plex decision to change this feature, so I’m going to request Plex to change the feature until I find out for sure that it’s Roku’s responsibility to change. It really seems like it should be within Plex’s control to change this…
While playing a movie in the Plex Roku Channel, I’d like the “*” asterisk button on the Roku remote to bring up the Plex “Settings” popup like it used to do before a recent Plex app update. Now all of a sudden the asterisk button brings up the “Options” menu on the left sidebar, which only has a few limited options, and is not the same as the “Settings” menu which provides detailed stream info, etc. I’d like the asterisk button to bring up the “settings” menu again, since the “options” menu is pretty useless. I believe a recent Plex software update changed this capability on some of the newer Roku devices, and I’d like to change this back.
It seems that not all Roku devices are experiencing this negative feature change (see thread noted above), so my request is to make sure all devices are consistently popping up the Settings.
Granted, there is an alternative way to get to the settings popup during movie play back if you hit the remote down arrow, then several left-arrow clicks over to the “settings” icon. But this is 5 more button clicks now compared to how it was before, so its not very user friendly for those that heavily use this feature.
