[Feature Request] GPS points / map display for Photos

First off, I love Plex and just got the lifetime Plex Pass.

I’d really like to see is a map with points of where pictures were taken (from GPS metadata).

I’m pretty much looking for a duplicate of iOS Photos where you can see the locations of photos on a map.

An example would be something like the following:

This would allow me to see pictures say taken at my house vs work which the reverse geocode would just show as (City, State).

Any thoughts?

They need a Plex SEAL team on Photos, there is a lot that can be improved to bring it up to parity with other platforms, like this, sorting, thumbnails, etc.

I couldn’t agree more. I definitely bought the plex pass assuming that their geotagging was map based in relation to other photos.

Is SEAL team something software specific or do you just mean an elite team? In either case I totally agree photos and map access are number one on my list ATM. I wish I could donate money to specifically funding that feature!

just trying to keep this thread alive. Sigh I’ve pretty much given up hope for this feature. It seems like it would be incredibly useful to others.

I dunno, it has its ups and downs… I use google photos for my photo storage not plex, and google photos has apps all over the place, and can integrate with Google Earth… So it’s not really something I desire for Plex to handle. If they wanted to make a handshake or something using google maps API’s, that would be nice… but I don’t think it’s something I totally support, simply because as a photo platform, it’s already failing against something like Google Photos imo.
