A lot of times, when I look at pictures, I forget where I’ve taken it. It’d be nice to be able to see where I took those images—also, maybe an option to see other photos I took at or near that location. If I’m taking pictures on the run, you can see a list of photos from that run. String them together by date and location. It’d give photo viewing a better experience. I know plex is mainly a video viewing platform, but since the camera roll upload feature was added, might want to make the photo viewing experience better, also.
In order for Plex to know where the photo was taken, the photo must be geotagged. If it is, Plex has the ability to display a map.
Note: This has never worked reliably for .DNG files.
Yes, this is really nice - how about using the location as a search parameter and an interface? E.g. choosing a place on a map and getting an overview of all the photos taken at that location as pins on the map - clickable to go to a particular photo?
That would be a nice (but different) request. Should have its own thread so people can vote.
