I have a few libraries that I only browse by folder (personal videos / etc). I can hide them from my dashboard, but they still show up in search results. It would be ideal to have the option to hide library from search results alongside the “Include in dashboard” toggle.
Agree, I am guessing most people want to hide their porn from the family audience, and yep, it’s easy enough to hide from ‘on deck’, but if you search for something, well chances are some porn shows up in that search list - joy! Why this isn’t already an option is a mystery to me.
can we please resolve this issue in the next update. I can’t imagine it would be too difficult to implement. thanks
a good example for me is that i have a “training and education” library that has something like 30,000 video files, a lot of searches return a TON of these video files which really are nonsense to 90% of my users.
I can’t believe this still hasn’t been added after two years!
There needs to be a simpler check box directly under “include in dashboard” for “include in search results”… It’s that simple.
Nine of the other “solutions” currently available help. .plexignore will ignore the folder entirely, not just in search results. Putting a password on my user profile will just maybe everyone ask why I have a password on my account. And since the main about is always listed first, creating separate accounts for others in the households doesn’t really help.
2021 clean-up: implemented (open ⋮ > Manage Library > Edit..., configure Advanced > Visibility to ignore this library in the global search)
