More Channel guide Viewing options, would like to see a traditional by the Channel guide (Grid-style), you know; channel down the left, time slot across the top… scroll left/right for time shift and up/down for available channels, etc…
Ability to watch a show already recording, IE: click show currently recording and play from beginning. Just went to watch a football game I had been recording and now have to wait for the recording to finish to start watching from beginning.
Ability to record a show you are already watching, recording should start at the moment you started watching. Since you can “jump” back on timeline, should be a matter of just storing that data as part of the complete recording. Thanks to @3rdStng
Ability to “stop” a show already recording, without having to cancel the entire series recording… Possibly a prompt afterwards to keep or discard recording…
Ability to force a show to start recording (individual episode) of an already set series recording that failed to start due to “Allow partial ariings” being unchecked. Had this happen a few times now and wanted to start it anyways but couldn’t.
When recording a complete series (both old and new episodes) in a new location (hard drive), it also recognizes episodes in old location (hard drive), as currently it starts to record episodes its already recorded in the past, because they are not in the current location.
Will add/update/modify this list as I think of more and things get implemented
So like a “send to top” option along with a number designation. Sure I could see that for Recording priority.
I’d like to see a simple backup and restore option for scheduled Recordings. That way you can move from one PMS to the next easily or recover from disaster. A cloud option for this wouldn’t go amiss either.
Asymmetric tuner sources is frequent request. I know I’ve made the request before.
A lot of people want to see an improved triditional guide too.
Yeah that is a fairly basic DVR feature. I suspect this is likely to be added in due time.
Unfortunately adding a proper guide (grid) or even the ability to go directly to a specific channel to initiate Live TV easily and unimpeded is less clear.
I’d settle for the features that are already supposed to work (like multiple OTA devices working so you can record more than two shows) actually work. I get and understand bugs… but when something is documented and promoted as working and then still doesn’t after multiple patches, then it’s vaporware… not a feature.
Updated, added 3 new feature requests including the one that @mdubash mentioned as it had just happened to me too. On top of NextPVR having that ability, Emby also has this ability, might be couple places for Dev’s to check out and possibly emulate
I would like to see the ability to start recording a program you are watching already. This would probably go hand in hand with the ability to watch a program being recorded. I/E: Start watching a program live and get hooked. Rather than going back and then telling it to record, you can just hit the record button from the control/navigation (Rwd/FF/Pause) bar. Otherwise if you back out and hit record, you will lose what is in your buffered view.
