Feature request - Option to disable Plex Tuner Service when DVR not configured

Feature request.
If DVR has not been configured, _Plex Tuner Service.exe _should not be running. Yes, I realize it does not use very much resources idle… but no need for it.

Same for FreeBSD. With a resource limited FreeNAS box every piece of RAM is worth it.

Same for all. How to disable Plex Tuner Service?

Why are no Admin answering this question??? I have no need for a dvr and resources are limited on my server!!!

+1 for this feature. Just a simple tickbox would do and I’m sure would take the devs about 5 minutes to do. Come on! Please. Pretty please.

I renamed the service. Changed ‘.exe’ to ‘.exx’.
As yet, I’ve seen no repercussions. Plex appears to be working without incident. No errors were seen within Windows Event Log.
Entry in Plex Server Log:

+1 for this feature. This is so annoying on FreeBSD where it just fails to shut down constantly due to this service most people don’t use.

Agreed, no reason to have unused daemons running.

Bump. Someone please address this.

Bad programming - please address this!
(wondering how much power this uses on all installed and running plex media servers - for nothing!)

Making this an official feature request, since none of this voting here actually counts. Re-vote on the new post!
