I’m apparently in the minority by not basing my music on albums, but rather tracks. Most features are centered around albums - I have rarely liked more than a few songs on an album
Request: A “Recently Added Music” except just tracks instead of the current “album” based approach. Or the ability to create this as a smart playlist would work just fine as well. GPM had this feature, and it was where I spent 90% of my time - because if I added it recently, that means that’s the stuff I’m listening to right now. I also liked how GPM’s ‘recently added’ had a pretty large size by default - 500 tracks I think. It was just an auto generated/updated playlist.
This feature already exists. If you’re using Plexamp, “Recently Added” is among the new automatically generated smart playlists that are set up for you on the first run. Try signing out and signing back in to see this!
Ah, I didn’t know that. I see it now. I also see now how I probably could have made this a smart playlist before.
I modified the auto generated one to: last 3 years, limit to 300 tracks, and the key part that was immediately obvious was to show the “date added” column in the plex web UI, then sort by that, then save.
Now I have my all time favorite playlist - thanks!!
