Can we get a Third type of Recording Type please, Single Record which sits between ‘New Recording Only’ and ‘New and Repeat Recordings’
Single Record should act like New and Repeat Recording but should check PMS to see if the show has already been recorded, It’s more useful with TV Shows, as it should only select missing episodes rather than just recording the same epsoide repeatedly.
On my DVR PMS Server, I’m seeing the same show repeated recording (whilst this correct as per the EPG), which means I’m having to repeatly delete shows whilst trying to complete recordings of all the episodes within a season
The new and repeat setting should not record episodes you already have as long as the episode is in the same library you record to. For example, if you record to a TV_Shows library and the episode already exists in that library Plex will see you already have the episode and not schedule it to record. However, if you record to a TV_DVR library and move the recording out of a folder in that library to a folder in your TV_Shows library Plex will no longer see the episode in your TV_DVR library and will record it again.
In that case, we have a bug with how the system, it’s either based on EPG data, or something which within the recording selection code. I’m here in the UK.
I’m including a screen shot, as it recording the same copy of thunderbirds based on the three broadcast copies over the last 24 hours, As it selected recording from three different channels, I’m getting three copies. Surely I should only get HD Copy recorded once?

A Plex Engineer is going to try to replicate the issue. If you can provide more information. What channels are the episodes aired on. What is your Zip and guide selection made when setting up your DVR?
Can you tell me what channels they air on so that I can try to reproduce it here? Also, do you have your subscription set to record all episodes or only new airings?
I’m in UK, Zip Code BA8. Region ITV West, I use the Mendip Transmitter.
Thunderbirds are Go is set to recording all, not just new.
As per the recording Screening
The Same episode is screened 4 times,
Saturday - 8:30 - 9:05 is the new epsiode, correctly marked on 103 ITV1HDS
(missing from EPG is ITV1 + 1 hour which showed the episode (9:30-10:05)
On Sunday
Sun, Apr 8 at 7:00am on 103 ITV1HDS
Sun, Apr 8 at 8:05am on 33 ITVP1LN
Sun Apr 8 at 6:00pm on 203 CHITV
of which all are missing ‘new show’ flag (depending on your point of view)
Just noticed the same, Too late to get any logs now but can next time i notice it
Equivelant channels as above (ITV Tyne Tees (3) & ITV+1 (33))
Set to record all episodes (It recorded twice last night, and has also tried to schedule same episode for next friday)
