Feature Request: the ability to create plex music artists without having any of their albums

The “appears on” panel in Plexamp has, in my opinion, finally made searching for classical music on Plex possible. Despite the lack of a composer tag, I can simply set the track artist tag as the composer, and all of the records they appear on will show up conveniently on the composer’s page. There’s one problem though; if I want to, for example, view all of my albums that feature music composed by Antonio Vivaldi, I need at least one album where he is the “album artist.”

To consistently tag all of my classical music, I now have to either set the album artist as the composer (and lose valuable info, like the conductor, performer, or orchestra) or create placeholder records just to make the artist appear in my library. This also frustratingly applies to compilations featuring obscure artists, who may have never even released an album, but have released famous singles and may warrant an artist page. Therefore, I propose we’re given the option to “create” artists, perhaps by searching for them on the MusicBrainz/Plex Music scanner and adding them to our library. At this point, I don’t expect Plex to ever receive multi-artist support for albums, but I really think the “appears on” tab could be a sufficient solution for most people’s needs if it operated this way.
