I have many TV shows in my collection, but they do not always simply contain numbered episodes. There can be “episode 0”'s, there can be unnumbered bonus episodes, there can be recaps and “half-episodes” (i.e. episode 10.5 between episodes 10 and 11). Sometimes these bits of “side content” can be definitively attached to an individual season while others are more attached to the series as a whole. I would very much like it if Plex didn’t outright ignore anything that didn’t fit neatly into the box of “TV episode” and placed them into an “extra” or “bonus” category, as well as being flexible with nonconventional episode numbering.
It likely won’t address all of your requests, but the new Plex TV Series scanner/agent does support TV extras at the show, season, and episode levels (though not all clients support this yet). There’s more information here.
afaik Season 0 exists for this very reason. first try and match against tvdb, failing that manually edit.
