Do you not use the volume control in the lower right corner or is this insufficient?

VLC allows the volume to be set to max 200%. This is practical on movies which do not have DRC settings applied to their multichannel audio, especially with small speakers like on many flatscreen tv's. How about trying 'Audio boost' in the web app?
