I wish there is a Button in the web interface not to play in the Flashplayer but in the browserintegratet vlc or in the player itself so i need no rendering and have the comfort of the cool Web-Interface
there is already such a button. if there is another client opened in the local network, there is an arrow right next to the playbutton in Plex/Web.
it seems there is a problem to understand myself. i like to have a button to open the video in a standard player like vlc (videolan.org). so the video must not be transcodet and i can use the web interface to browse instead of the propetary software which is very unhandy if u like todo something on pc while watching video.
there is a little workaround caus the vlc player has a browserfunktionality so if u rightklick on download open in new tab the vlc-browserplugin starts playing it and wihout need to get the video into flash format and back. So u dont loose quality, is faster deliverd and u got less cpu usage on client-side and none at serverside

but still, the "play on..." function is already great. and the PHT doesn't need to transcode. so where is the problem? besides, ericmatthys said "We are working on improving the player in Plex/Web though. I think you can expect to see some big changes in the near future. "
