Feature Requests: Live TV & DVR - Assigning Tuners to different Programming Guides, Dedicating Tuner 'Pools' to recording vs live streaming

Background: With the recent release of HDHomeRun Premium TV and the ability to view and record those channels via Plex I’ve run into an issues that don’t have an easy / user-friendly workaround:

  1. I have (2) HDHomeRun CONNECT (4 tuners total)
  2. When setting them up as a DVR I’m only able to select 1 Programming Guide for them - and in order to take advantage of the HDHomeRun Premium TV I have to select that guide.
  3. This means I lose the ability to select / manually set my local OTA Channels to a guide.
  4. It would be great to be able to at least dedicate a given Tuner to a given guide, e.g. Set one Connect box to Premium TV, and one to OTA recording streaming. But I can’t do this when I add my second Connect to the DVR Setup.
  5. It would also be great to create “pools” of tuners to be dedicated to only record, or only stream. I sometimes have so many things recording that there is no way to live-stream as all tuners are in use. It would be nice to able to have, say, 4 tuners, and be able to dedicate 3 to recording and only recording, and 1 to live-stream, and only live-stream. That way there would always be at least 1 slot to use for impromptu tv watching…

Thoughts? Does anyone else see these enhancements as valuable?

I think both of those suggestions are extremely beneficial (selecting different programming guides per source, and having tuner poos) - especially with the continued adoption of HDHomerun premium service and potentially other sources for the future. I would love to have these features!

Update: I recently added a 3rd DVR Device - a HDHomerun Connect Quatro – so no I have 8 tuners total, of which I can only use 4 at a time to record from the HDHomeRun Premium TV Service. It would be great if I could dedicate the 4 tuners in the in the 2 Connects to OTA and let the Connect Quatro handle all of the Premium TV Channels (up to 4 at once)…
