The MacOS and iOS clients have a feature in which one can select "filters" to include content meeting multiple criteria. Currently this doesn't look possible on the PlexConnect UI.
For those with very large media collections, this way of selecting content would be indispensable. Browsing is just painful.
One simple example:
Suppose you wanted to see a list of your Pixar movies before Pixar was bought by Disney. You also have a bunch of Disney movies having nothing to do with Pixar.
With the clients this is simple and elegant. Tag all pre-Disney Pixar movies "Pixar" and all pre-Pixar movies "Disney" in Collections. All Disney/Pixar movies would naturally have both tags.
Now go to your Plex client, get to Collections, and check off both tags. Done.
But in PlexConnect, you can only browse within a single category (Genre, Collection, etc.). Can't select multiple tags. This forces users in the above example to create a third tag "Disney/Pixar" for all Disney CG movies after 2005.
Many other examples. "So honey, what do you want to watch tonight?" "How about a supernatural crime comedy? [ignore the fact that this combination would probably find The Frighteners or Beetlejuice]" "Great! Let's go to Trailers! Oh wait. We can only browse through the supernatural genre and hope we come across a crime comedy." "Bummer. I'll go grab my iPhone and check off those three genres. Done. Airplay, here we come again."
Huge media libraries really need granular ways of finding/discovering content, and filters (or the ability to select multiple tags/criteria) works perfectly on the Plex clients. Is this possible in PlexConnect? If so, and it's implemented, I will immediately donate again! Thanks.
Sry if this is a duplicate (searched but didn't find) or misposted (didn't see a feature request thread).
