I have recently upgrade to plex ht 1.3.3-218ade1.x86_64, I am currently experiencing problems similar to what has been reported for Ubuntu; when pressing play on any film the PHT hangs.
I have tried down grading PHT to 1.3.0 but had the same effect, next I will attempt a build from source and see if it fixes the problem. In the meantime if you have any information to tips to share I would appreciate it very much.

I am facing the same issue. PHT hangs on playback.
I installed plexhometheater-1.3.3-218ade1.x86_64 on my fedora 20 (x86_64).
While the plex web client is just working fine in chrome web browser.

In the end I rolled backed to version 1.2.2-bdd03dd, I did not attampt a build from source due to limited time available. But as a work around 1.2.2-bdd03dd is fine until they can fix the problem with 1.3.3-218ade1.
I've got the exact same issue on building from source on Gentoo. Any of the 1.3.x freezes on play

Not that I know of. I didn’t manage to get it working on Gentoo either
I’m not 100% sure about whats causing this. But from my initial investigations it seems to happen when being built on modern systems. Eg when I build OpenELEC + PHT on Ubuntu 13.04 all is good. If I build the same code on Ubuntu 14.04 its the same bad result. The same goes for Fedora 20. Same bad result. Have not found out whats going on yet.
