Files Classified as "Other Videos" No Longer Showing Played Status on Shield

I have a couple of libraries that are classified as “Other Videos” that no longer have their watched status shown. The orange triangle no longer appears on unplayed files. The server is a Synology NAS; the client is an nVidia Shield. Looking at the Syno, the orange triangles are present; this is not reflected on the Shield, however, which leads me to believe it’s a new issue on Android devices.

Until recent versions of Plex, the orange triangle always showed on these unplayed files. Is this a known issue, is Plex aware of it, and has anyone found a workaround? Updating the app on both ends has not fixed the issue. Note that this is not an issue on regular movies and TV shows.

Same for Fire TV and Android phones, specifically with the personal media agent. I tried adding the same videos to new libraries using the movie agent as well as random custom agents and the unplayed triangle shows up for all of them.

yes - this has been broken on both android tv and android mobile for quite a long time unfortuantly.
