I apologize if this has been asked and answered, but I tried doing some searching and couldn’t find an answer.
In the dashboard I can see how long a user spent watching movies and shows over a specific period. Example: In the last 7 days User A had 1 play that lasted 1h36m. However, when I click on the play history for that same time period, 14 movies show up in their history because they have been marking other movies as watched. This means I can’t tell which movie was actually watched. Is there a way to filter out movies that weren’t actually viewed, but marked as watched?
I have a Plex pass on my other account that I run my server off of, but I didn’t see where to find that information. I’ll look into Tautulli, though. Thanks!
I think I’m not asking the right question, and I apologize. I see that information. But that also shows movies that were manually marked “as watched”, and not actually streamed off my server. I’m curious if there’s a way to filter out movies that were manually marked “as watched” from the play history, because they weren’t actually played.
If you look at the timestamps on the picture above, that user supposedly watched 15 movies in 16 minutes, but in reality those were just manually marked “as watched”. If that’s not possible, that’s fine. I can look into your third party suggestion. I just didn’t know if Plex had an in house filter or setting for something like this.

Oh thanks for clarifying. unfortunately It cannot currently distinguish. I know there was talk of improving that recently since we have the watch state syncing to account now. But I don’t have any ETA when that might be done.
Yeah, I ran into this when a friend I invited went scanning through my library for movies he’d seen before. He marked a lot of them as watched manually. I was confused one day when I saw he watched like 30 movies within a few minutes.
Hi, I would love to see this issue fixed too. Marking an entire show as watched really blows out my streaming stats, and I would love for it to be actually accurate!
