I burned a well known film (The French Connection). Added it to my movie folder, but plex isn’t detecting it. I’ve tried adding IMDB and TMDB tags to it, but still not pulling up in plex. Suggestions?
There could be a number of issues. Make sure the file is named according to Plex’s guidelines.
If the file doesn’t follow the guidelines, Plex may have misidentified the movie and either not imported it, or imported it under a different name, so you might not know where it is in the library. You could sort the library by ‘Date Added’ so the newly-added movie is at the top.
So I did try that out but no luck. I added file to a different folder and it showed up. But when I move it back to the desired folder it’s not listed and the total # of items listed did not change. Very strange.
Somehow - no clue how - the file was added but attached itself to an existing item in plex. I found a different move that was showing two movie files (different names, file size, date). On the second file listed in the movie, I added the {imdb-} tag tit o and issue was resolved
