Would be awesome to be able to view and sort the content on my streaming services based on the IMDB-rating. And also hide movies and series I have watched.
please make it stop showing tidal music at the top of the search list. also the app ‘just watch’ is so far superior in helping which of the 4 dozen ‘the outlaws’ shows you’re looking for is the one you want that it’s no contest–but i give you the benefit of the doubt that some way will be found to better filter this list. even imdb search list is not as bad because they have dates next to them. your results don’t have dates for many entries nor are they sorted by service. tks, also, the bbc series ‘the outlaws’ just arrived on amazon last week, but didn’t show up in the amazon prime ‘new items’ list either. /guy
OK then I understand your point and why you would recommend this. Unfortunately for people like me who didn’t know, changing today means losing years of watch status, rating, etc. Not sure this new feature is worth this.
Does the watchlist have an API, or any plans for making it available? Would be awesome to send stuff to my watchlist from other services and for syncing lists.
It does not. I’m not aware of plans but I will pass that feedback to folks
One feature that this is missing is the ability to filter/sort by streaming service. I currently use JustWatch for my unified watchlist, and it has that feature.
Say for example my HBO Max is going to renew in 2 weeks, but I want to cancel it by then. I will go to JustWatch and filter out only the items on my watchlist that are on HBO Max so I can watch all of those first.
Unless I’m missing it, this new Plex feature doesn’t have that. Until it does, I can’t use it.
Yeah I thought that might have been the case but I have Hulu installed and its still says “unavailable”. This is on an iPhone.
Anyone successfully playing Hulu content or is it just me?
Ok. That’s actually really good.
In the meanwhile, I’m still waiting to hear why having the option to enable or disable Discover for managed users is such a bad idea? I’m not looking to change my setup anytime soon (admin account behind a pin, managed user account for myself + my family members), so this feature is wasted on the likes of me. And judging by recent threads both here and on reddit, I’m not alone.
So this would give cinema release information and streaming release too. Awesome.
If movie will be coming on TV channel that info will be included? Like TV guide info.
Would i able to put a future reminder like coming on cinema, streaming and on tv channels, including repeat telecast?
Currently i use Sensy TV for TV guide tracking and jumping back and forward from Android TV to STBs via this. It gives diffrent HDMI playbacks within the app only so no switching to HDMI inputs + tv guide. Using Just Watch service for searching streaming services and using Google Search reminders for movie release dates reminder. Plex is consolidating all these different fragmented experiences into better universal experience!!
Universal Watchlist is an amazing idea, but it has one big flaw I can see now that I’m populating it: there’s no way to filter out what’s already been watched! I don’t mind manually marking things as watched, but once I do I’d like those to vanish from the watchlist (if I filter it to “unwatched”). Without that it’s a LOT less useable (for me at least).
For example, I added the series Top Chef, I marked the prior 18 seasons as watched, and all but two of this season’s episodes… but there’s no indication at all of which episode is next to watch. Ideally when I click that show in my Watchlist, filtered to “Unwatched” it would show me just the shows with new / unwatched episodes available, and show me only those unwatched episodes.
Also when displaying a show from the watchlist, it might be good to show them in reverse chronological order, as in the same Top Chef example, I have to scroll to the bottom of 19 seasons to see the current one.
Eh, not quite. JustWatch is still a lot more powerful (filtering by service and notifications when a title is newly available to stream are two examples), but this is a good start by Plex. Unfortunately until they have those 2 features I won’t be able to switch.
Ergo in progress…
Id like to get in on this beta, I think this would be amazing.!
I love the TV Time iOS app for tracking shows and movies, if you’re tired of JustWatch. Only downside: no Apple TV app. But otherwise it’s close to perfect.
I would like to be able to link to my accounts in the streaming services and for each service to tell my Plex, what was on my Continue Watching list including which episode.
I think I see the issue. The particular series Im trying to play doesnt seem to be indexed properly - its available on Hulu but Plex doesnt recognize that the particular season I want to play is available.
I think I ran into this once before with another app. I dont think there is anything wrong with Plex.
Thanks!
Yep, this is my one big issue also: we need a filter for unwatched-only.
I’ve found that you can mark episodes as “watched” although since you have to go to the streaming service app to watch, it doesn’t matter how you mark it in your Plex watchlist because when you go to the app, the app will know. which episode is up next. If there ever is a value to keeping track within Plex, it would be really useful to be able to mark a whole season as watched or maybe even “mark all episodes prior to this one as watched”. Or even to get that information from the streaming service.
Well if I mark things as Watched in Plex (manually), and there are no more episodes of a show to watch, I’d like that show to vanish from my Watchlist (at least if I filter to unwatched-only).
You can mark whole seasons as watched within Plex, FYI. Or you can watch whole Series as watched. Maybe easier to do that and then mark just the last few episodes as Unwatched.
I don’t think sync is ever going to happen, because Plex would need to work with every service’s API, and I don’t know that any of them even offer that.
When I put a show into my watchlist and it is a show that I am watching on Plex, it doesn’t seem to mark watched episodes, even though it is within the same app. Could this feature be added? Or, on the other hand, is there any reason to mark as “watched” episodes that are in my watchlist?
