yeah I would like to remove “trending trailers” from Home as well because there are performance implications of too many tabs on Home page for some players (I already limit the total for that reason)

I kinda disagree with your argument on why it’s disabled for managed users though, a simple restrictive toggle on a per user basis would’ve been more than sufficient. You’re also a little mistaken on how much easier it is for them to login with their own credentials. The older folks in my family never have any issues downloading the app and telling me what the 4 digit code is on the screen to log them in remotely, some don’t even have an email address to make an account with

I’m not sure how you’re aggregating the trending data (TMDb?) but it would be really cool to have media thats only available on my server appear in them sections. Useful if you say, don’t subscribe to any services and have none selected? Obviously as an opt in feature, perhaps by simply listing our servers on the list of services?

I would also love an option to disable showing media that isn’t available on my selected services. It’s currently very cluttered with services I don’t intend on using. (This would exclude the trailers ofc)

Great feature. I wish I Could disable the services I don’t have though. I have the services I want and being able to toggle the display of any other sources would be nice. The same goes for free movies which I’m really not interested in. Please let me turn these off in the discovery view.

Pros:
Step into the right direction to include movies/series from services you are subscribed into the search

Potential to Improve:

• Do not search in services I do not own (opt-out), I really do not want to be overwhelmed with search results, I want to focus on most relevant ones
• I know this has been a topic again and again, but I do not want to open another app, I would like to stream within plex, maybe as a start public services like youtube would be great to stream directly within plex
• Discover-Tab contains ALL services, if I add a service a dedicated Service-Tab, e.g. Youtube-Tab would be nice to only see what is trending or interesting on youtube

First of all, congrats on an amazing update!

Few minor issues:

• iPad app keeps forgetting my preferred services

• “Watch from locations” includes services I didn’t select - would be nice to have only preferred services available on the main page and others hidden under “more”

• Tapping on actors profiles doesn’t do anything

Suggestions:

• I think the “Subscription” label under the service icon is redundant for subscription only services like AppleTV+ or Netflix and would look cleaner without it

• User library has a round icon, but services are rounded squares. Would look nicer if the User profile was the same shape

• It would be nice if the watchlist had a “relative time till release” sorting option so instead of “14 Apr 2022” , it would be “9 days”

• Would be nice to have a separate “Available From Your Watchlist” scrollable areas for TV and Movies

• Notifications when an item from the Wishlist has been released

• Would also be nice to have some sort of visual indicator for released content on the Wishlist instead of having to use filtering or option for “relative time till release” with “5 days” and “Available” labels

One of the major downsides of not being properly integrated. But you can’t blame them as even AppleTV app on iOS which has some cooperation doesn’t carry full info on watch status.

i have the new Plex movie agent but I see the universal metadata not this from my server.
is this watchlist also available without displaying the streaming providers?
When I click on the watchlist, I will be in my plex media library and not select the streaming provider first.
I don’t have a subscription and I don’t want to constantly see where it’s available and how much it costs.

I also just noticed an issue on the tvOS app, I figured when this update finally came out we would maybe have a solution but I guess not. Can we PLEASE have a trailer button for TV Shows? Like, it drives me nuts when I have to scroll all the way to the bottom to watch a trailer, it’s even more annoying when you get there and there isn’t even a trailer why do Movies get special treatment? I’m begging

I have it in the UK and it shows UK steaming services but even when my VPN is on it doesn’t show the US services. Any way around that?

Me (server owner), the girlfriend (does not live with me) and Daughter (lives in another city) all have individual accounts.

Sounds like the perfect use of individual accounts! On the other hand, me (server owner), my wife (under the same roof for 10+ years) and our three children, ages 2 and up have no use for separate accounts as the only devices logged in to Plex that they use are the TVs in the living room and the flex room. We’ve been using managed accounts pretty much since they rolled out (eight-ish?) years ago and see no reason to change that setup anytime soon.

@BigWheel Managed Users are not only used for kids! I had to switch to managed users to use the “skip intro” feature (which is great!)

How can I use “skip intro” and “discover source” at the same time with the same user? Without having each user having their own plex pass, I do have a lifetime pass on the server.

Until I discovered that on Samsung the app link does not work, while it works for the just watch app.

How can I make it so that my own media library shows up in discover? It’s not there, and I can’t seem to find it in “Streaming Services” or anywhere else.

I’d also like the unfilter option. I’m in Germany, but unable to add HBO Max that I subscribe to from another location. Would be great if more streaming options would be available to choose from.
