Finding a tv show folder not indexed by Plex

Server Version#: 1.21.2.3918 running on Windows 10 Pro
Player Version#: 1.27.1.1571-2fface66 running on Windows 10 Pro

  • All library data is stored on 11 NTFS drives local to the server (no NAS/network storage)
  • I’ve restarted the server, cleared out trash, cleared metadata, optimized database, and rescanned the library several times. Also went through duplicates as a precaution to make sure there are none for this library. I have verbose logs enabled, there’s just a lot of data to sift through without knowing what I’m looking for.

Hello guys,

So, the situation is there are 1080 tv shows in my one library listed in plex but in the library folder there are 1081 folders (number is 1081 when you do folder view in Plex as well). I’m trying to find the folder that’s not being picked up, probably because of naming convention of episodes.

I just need to know if there’s a trick I might not know about to do this quickly or can I search the scanner logs for a specific string for ignoring a folder or if there’s 0 items detected because of the naming convention snafu in a folder.

Any insights are appreciated!

Thanks!

You’re a lifesaver! Can confirm this plugin still works for Plex server on Windows and solved my problem in under 5 minutes using the “FindMedia” feature. The culprit just as I suspected were weirdly named episode files in an obscure older anime series. Thank you! This tool did a great job helping find other oddly named episodes and “extras” bundles with certain series in case anyone else runs into similar issues.

Also, thank you for developing this amazing tool <3
