Finding an Incorrectly Linked File

Server Version#: 4.138.0

I dropped a file in one of my movie libraries, but it isn’t showing up in my list of titles. I suspect that Plex linked it to another title. Is there an easier way than going through hundreds of titles and checking the versions?

Sort for duplicates.

Edit: Also try the Plex Dance, and make sure to follow Plex naming requirements.

Naming and organizing your Movie files

You can add the TMDB/IMDB ID to the folder and file name. That tells Plex exactly which movie to match.

If you want to add info regarding resolution, audio, etc. place it in a single square bracket at the end of the folder/file name.

Example:

/movies
../Avatar (2009) {tmdb-19995} [other.info.here]
..../Avatar (2009) {tmdb-19995} [other.info.here].mkv

Releases · WebTools-NG/WebTools-NG · GitHub can also allow you to export the list and then review it in excel

That worked beautifully! Thank you…

Thank you for the reminder. I’ve never had a problem with matching titles using just the title name as long as the title was unique. Recently it seems to be more important to also have the release year in the file name.

I always use name, year and imdb ID. Never had a bad match
