Finding multiple versions of a file

Server Version#: 1.32.8.7639
Player Version#: 4.116.1

I have been updating my server by adding many 4K versions of movie files. Since the viewer tech is so nice now that TV’s, computers, phones, etc…will all play a file up to its highest version I don’t need 720 or 1080 versions also. They are just taking up space.

My question is this…is there a way or can there be a way in a future version of PLEX to show all movies that have multiple versions? As it looks now, I am not seeing movies show multiple versions up front. (I would swear they used to…so if you have 2 versions it shows a number 2…or maybe I’m thinking of something else.) With over 4000 movies on 5 different drives I’d love an easy way to see the multiples via the server.

Thanks for any info on this…and/or for maybe adding it to a to-do list.

You can sort for duplicates.

You can use an Advanced Filter to further sort by resolution or other criteria.

Edit the movie (pencil icon) → Info to see file locations.

Example: Both movies have 1080p and 720p versions in the library.

OMG!!! I have NEVER even seen the Advanced Filters option. WOW!!! The only downside is I’ll be playing with that all night now and I have to work early in the AM!!! LOL

Thank you for that!! Worked like a charm.

PS: I tend to forget how powerful this program is. Honestly, I never use filters because it lists my library exactly how I want it to anyway so I simply don’t change things. Never poked around under all those options… That’s about to change.
