Fire TV no video on new player or new streaming

On my element fireTV when I activated the new player there is no picture on any file I play. With the new player turned off it works fine with the exception of the new Movies and TV from Plex folder have no picture.

If I sign in thru Firefox on my tv there is a picture.

I will update with server player version when I can get them. Just want to see if anyone else had a similar issue.

I just enabled the new player on my element firetv and yeah…no video… Tried reset to default, direct stream, different videos in variety of codecs, forcedtranscode, full uninstall of plex app and reinstall. No video. I do have audio.
What the hell plex?

I have the exact same issue, why won’t Plex solve this? The new player is not new at all…

Don’t use the new player at all.

Is there a way to roll it back, so it still works on the Fire TV?

Go to your Plex settings and find the Advanced Settings row. Several options to the right you will find “enable new video player”. Click on it and disable the new player and it will go back to the old working version. Unfortunately Plex will periodically re-enable the new video in your settings, so when you notice the black screen problem go back to the new player setting and turn it off again.

Will Plex ever respond to the large number of users reporting this same issue?

I had issue with horribly blurry picture quality as well, and the “new player” would always crash.

I stumbled across another thread that mentioned the player (not server) setting -> H264 Maximum level. By default it’s set to 1. I disabled it, and things worked great again, and new player works just fine.

HELLO PLEX STAFF? Maybe somebody can address this? MONTHS and no response.
