Fire / google tv not working

I have all my files on my NAS that just crashed on me. I replaced a few hard drives and repairs it. When I try to watch something on my computer, it works fine. When I try to watch on my plex app on fire tv or chromecast, I get an error saying “an occurred while attempting to play this video. Please check hour connection and try again”.

What’s interesting is that the plex app is recognizing what i recently played on my computer.

I’ve signed off & on with the server and app which didn’t work. I’ve uninstalled plex on the server and reinstalled. I’ve uninstalled plex on fire tv.

Any hints or tips ? It has been working fine for over 2 years without me having to touch any settings.

I have two Shield TV’s, two new Chromecasts, and an Android TV. One day a few weeks ago, I started getting the same error on every TV’s Plex app. I can watch things on the website on every device I’ve tried and even cast from there to a TV. I don’t use the app daily, but when I first got the error, I tried all five TV’s to try and debug the problem, but none of them worked. Tried clearing data. No luck. Uninstall and reinstall. No difference. It’s as if an update was pushed out that broke the app entirely.

The TV’s do show every update to the library like new additions or progress through a show or movie made watching through the web interface.

My server is running on one of the Shield TV’s with the database stored on a thumb drive and all of the media on a NAS. Been working fine for quite a while until one day in ~June.
