Fire Stick 4k Live TV audio sync bug with "Transcode Interlaced Live TV" Disabled

Server Version#: 1.20.4.3517(File removed)
Player Version#: 8.8.1.21332 Fire Stick 4k logging.txt (1.0 MB)
Tuner Make/Model: HDHomeRun EXTEND Version 20200907
Guide/Lineup name: Plex Default
Using XMLTV?: No
Channel number/Name: 69.5 QUEST-E

With Transcode Interlaced Live TV set to Disabled:
When tuning to some channels, Live TV on the Fire Stick 4k has an audio sync bug that causes the video to LAG the audio by over a second.

It could have something to do with this warning in the logs, not sure.

11-07 09:18:05.109 w: [Player][Timeline] player position was negative. Position time will be reported as 0.

Please let me know if I can help track down this bug.

Thanks

Hello Plex,
Has this been assigned to anyone yet?

Thanks

Hi @anon18523487 . Can you see if Plex is working on this Bug? I haven’t seen any feedback yet.
Thank you.

I don’t use LiveTV much. Is that a Plex setting? The extend has it’s own transcoder so if it’s the HDHomerun, Plex has no control over that.

Yes, it is a Plex setting on the First Stick 4k.
I have the transcoder turned off on the extend, it doesn’t work very well and makes the picture blurry.

The Plex setting was added back in April in this post by @sa2000

Looks like you’re running into a side effect as eluded to at the end of that thread. I wasn’t aware of that issue so I’ll have to check if there’s been any changes.

Thank you for looking into it. The reason I’m using this setting is because with it off, the fire stick 4k plays live tv for a few minutes then exits back to the guide. With this setting it plays fine but some channels have a huge audio sync issue.

Here is a link to the other thread about the player stopping every couple of minutes on live tv.
