I’m having an issue with some of my videos I’ve recorded with my smartphone playing back in the wrong orientation on the Plex Fire TV app. They play correctly on the Plex web app on my PC.

In some ~similar cases disabling Direct Play (leave Direct Stream enabled) on the client has helped. That allows Plex to repackage the video stream into a different container, which may help compatibility.
In other cases, disabling Direct Stream can help. That’s much more drastic, will force a transcode, and may not even be an improvement. But if it does help, it may be useful info to the Plex devs.
(Devs may need more info, especially including client logs and/or a sample video that demonstrates the issue.)
That’s makes sense. Unfortunately I don’t see that those options are available on the Fire TV app. I also don’t have the option to manually change the quality like I normally can with a movie/TV show. I’m assuming that’s because it’s part of the photos library so it just plays at the native settings.
That’s interesting! Does it behave differently in an “Other” Library?
I’ll give that a try tomorrow and update the thread!
