FireStick 4K stutter ~100 a min Live TV

Issue: Watching CNN ticker during direct stream shows an almost rhythmic stutter of about 90-100bpm. This is during direct streaming. Tested on both mpeg-2 and h.264 channels (Comcast), also happens when transcoding. Then it will buffer a lot. It’s almost as if it’s not syncing with frame rate? This did not use to be an issue. I don’t use my firestick all that often so I can’t pinpoint when issue started.

Just to test, I DVR’d the same thing and it plays back just fine with no buffering or stutter. Any ideas?

Tested again. Why would the same content work after dvr-ing vs watching live? Viewing dashboard stats shows both being done via direct stream.

Trying to change all sort of settings. HDMI audio passthrough → auto, disabled. No go. It is almost as if it is sending the info to my TV too fast?

The stutter also makes it start to buffer. However, it does not buffer when I watch any DVR’d content.

Upon more research of other plex forums, found that rolling back to apk version 8.5.2.20133 solved the issue. This issue needs fixed in newer client updates.
