Hi plex team,
i did not know if this the right place but on android forum so far nobody answers from plex support so i will try here. in The Android Forum there are many open posts related to this problem. Normally i wait until a fix is coming up but this a really irritating bug.
Normally Plex-team when it has issue on a new app version, the bug fix usually follows within days. These issues have been on Fire TV for some weeks.

I can confirm the problem exists with Fire TV (1st Gen), Fire TV 4K(2nd gen)
Server: Windows Server 2012R2 Essentials
PMS: Version 1.3.4.3285 update to 1.4.1.3362 (same issues)

Issues:
Playing wrong video
Start playing random video on random button press
Returning to plex home screen after resuming from pause
Returning to plex home screen when pressing stop play
Returning to plex home screen after playback

I have tried re-connection, refreshing, clearing application cache, restart hole box

I would really know if you reliazed that there is a bug and it is on the todo list for fixes.
You are doing great work and for me is this the first time that a problem is so annoying that i write something.

I have the same issue with my FireTV (1st gen).

I am having the same issues with FireTV 4K(2nd gen). I have had to restart the device to get it working like normal for a while.

Server: Windows 8.1 Pro
PMS: Version 1.3.4.3285

This was also happening on Version 1.3.2. I just updated to 1.3.4 and am still having the issue.

Same – I have both of the issues in this thread:

1. Plex chooses videos at random

This can happen during navigation (fairly new problem)
This OFTEN happens when selecting a video to play or resume

  • It used to happen more often when selecting a video from “On Deck” or “Resume Watching” sections, but now it happens even when I browse directly to the show

2. After a pause, Plex “reboots” to the home screen

Amazon Fire TV 4k:
Plex: 5.4.3.131@33cdd463 (2.13.2)
Android 5.1
Fire OS 5.2.4. (565189620)

Server (Windows):
Plex Pass: 1.4.1.3362

Check. Have it on all of my three FireTV 2 devices with 5.4.3 and 5.5.0. Prior to 5.4.3 it was okay.
Server version 1.3.4 / 1.4.1 - no change

i have the same problems with 2 Fire tv 2nd gens and 1 fire tv stick with alexa voice remote (so far)

i’ve submitted some logs to “MovieFan.Plex” and hopefully he’s able to get this looked at soon.

I’m curious if anyone else has looked at the log files when this occurs, especially the fire tv’s logs? i have a little snippet from a misplay below that must be related, i’d think.

I haven’t looked at logs files, fortunately I turned on logging recently.

I have the same issue on my 1st and 2ng gen FireTV and I’m running the latest plexpass release on my mini running OS X Sierra.

Sometimes it plays a different RV show than I the one I select and sometimes is will start a movie when I select a TV show. Even if I drill down into the TV season and select an episode it plays a different tv show.

Occasionally it exits a show before 1-2 minutes before the end of the show, or will start playing media when I’m just trying brows to different menu levels.

Today it kicked me out of a TV episode 3/4 of the way through and then restarted it at the begining.

It’s getting very irritating.
