Hi all, so I know this question has been asked previously at various stages, but honestly, can’t seem to find a definitive fix or the latest info on the matter so here it goes.
Is there a definitive fix for the “An error is occurred while attempting to play this video. Please check your connection and try again.” message?
FACTS:
-The issue never happens locally anymore, only remotely.
-The issue only happens when using a FireTV device. I’ve had several different fire sticks that I’ve personally travelled with and the issue will happen with any of them. Sometimes, no matter what I try, reboots, uninstall of client, etc. It will simply not work for the night. The next night, everything might work fine.
I have some family that I share PLEX with, some have only FireTV clients (cube or stick) and both complain about the issue. I have some that only have Roku and they say they never have a problem. One family member has both and can replicate the issue with his FireTV, and never with his Roku. It definitely seems to be FireTV related IMO.
The issue seemed to really start when the new video player was released. For a time, disabling the new player and using the old one seemed to help (sometimes), but with the latest updates to the PLEX client that is no longer an option.
Is this a known issue that is being resolved? Is there a resolution that I’ve missed somewhere along the line?
I’m always running the latest PLEX version (Plexpass) that runs as a docker on my Unraid system.
Thanks for any insight.
