Running Plex Client on a FireTV (5.10.1.264@… (2.13.2), Android 5.1.
Plex Server on i5 NUC, Windows 10 Home (Version 1.7.2.3878).
HDHomeRun Connect.
A recorded program will (eventually, because it takes a while) play sound but there is no picture (apart from a static picture)
I read the below, in the Discussions, but cannot find where the setting is. Is it on the Client or on the Server? Should it solve my problem?
“Go to settings audio passtrough and set auto.”
“Then it will work but it will transcode almost everything.”
Anything else I can do or check?
Audio Passthrough is a client setting.
I can’t tell you where the issue lies, we’d need client and corresponding Plex Media Server logs to pinpoint the issue.
@chrisallen, a fellow kiwi, might be able to give some insight.
Whilst I get the logs, I re-checked the Client on the FireTV and there are only 3 settings in Audio:
- Dolby Digital (AC3) = Ticked
- Dolby Digital Plus (EAC3) = Ticked
- Volume Boot = None
All 3 settings were set by default when the App was installed.
Are you plugged into a receiver that supports AC3 and EAC3? If not, you should uncheck those.
I have a soundbar but cannot find any mention of AC3 or EAC3, so unchecked the two settings.
What I have found out is that if I select ‘Transcode’ in the HDHomeRun settings (in Plex) then Plex will play a recorded TV show. If not set, then it will not play.
The Client is a FireTV.
Attached is my log from my Server.
