How do you get this view? From which device are you getting this from?

I am also getting the server error and I just installed 9.9.14.531

Tried restartijng the plex app and trying login again, nothing, rebooted server, nothing, rebooted xbox, nothing.

Might uninstall the app and give it another shot...

I think that's cause mp4 and aac are already supported by the Xbox One.

Hm, I get an error whenever I try to play anything.

"Error

Unexpected Error

An unexpected error occured. Please check your device is connected to your network and try again."

The device is obviously connected to the network, the device is also on the same subnet (of course..) as the server.

Wonder what the issue is... am able to play from from other clients.

I'm getting the same error on a constant basis.  Connected via Ethernet.

That is just the plex.tv web client looking at 'current playing users'.

You need 0.9.10.3.665

v9.9.14.531 is not the latest Plex Pass version of the media server. You need to select the "Plex Pass" button to see it at https://plex.tv/downloads

Quality setting is Highest.

So .MKV isn't fully supported? Even with Oktober Preview Update?

I am on that.. and it still says needs higher or server not found. I'm on the same connection on Server and Xbox and I can stream to phone etc?

Something isn't working for me either. Every time I try to run MKV or AVI files on the X1 app I got the error "An error occurred while attempting to play this video".

I'm running Plex Server version 0.9.10.3.665 and everything works fine when I try to watch the files om both smart tvs that I have at home.

My Xbox was also saying I needed to upgrade my Plex to 0.9.10.3 - but I had upgraded it to that version.

Given about 15 minutes... it connected on its own.

Thoughts from another thread:

Just given it a quick go. Not sure if it'll take over Chromecast usage just yet, but it seems like a great first release.

What I want from future updates:

1. Send from mobile/tablet app to Xbox One, preferably start the application as well like the YouTube app now does (most recent update, can be cast in a similar was as the chromecast from YouTube on the web/android/ios, it starts the application even if it isn't open and starts playing).
2. Play queues, I couldn't find the option to set up play queues or just play everything in a folder like is available on other devices.

Otherwise, it seems rather good.

What kind of video codec is inside the mkv container?  If it is encoding it to a h264, i think the issue is the video codec..

So the "Check for Updates" button on the media server doesnt actually update me to the most current version? Awesome.

Thanks for the info, just re-installed it manually with the newest version and it's working now.

How can I check this on my Mac mini? VLC doesn't seem to show it.

/edit: Ah, it's just h.264. So that seems to be okay?

I noticed that my receiver is showing the incoming signal on everything played on the XB1 is DTS, regardless of what the actual audio is.  For example, I just played a file that had AAC 2.0 audio, yet my receiver says the signal is DTS 5.1.  Playing the same file on the Amazon FireTV running PleXBMC, the receiver shows the input signal as Stereo PCM.  Similarly, a file with Dolby Digital 5.1 shows as DTS on Plex via XB1, while it correctly shows as Dolby Digital on the FireTV.  What is the Xbox doing to the audio stream here?

You must have bitstreaming activated on your xbox for dts...if you have a receiver that supports hdmi you should change to 5.1 pcm to get the best quality

Is your Xbox One via optical connected to your reciever and you have your audiosettings to Bitstream DTS? If so, everything will be send as DTS to your receiver.

I have my Xbox One connected via HDMI to my receiver and my audiosettings are on Uncompressed 5.1. When you're connected via HDMI, you should never use Bitstream

Dude, PMS has never...ever...allowed an update that is plexpass only to ever work that way, they dont want people updating to plexpass versions automatically as that would bork the non plexpass users...

That's just a screen save I made on my Mac.  The view itself is from the Plex Web Manager, in the Activity section.
