That is an odd choice! The "New Releases" section is the only thing I use. In-fact I wish I could set the Plex client to just show the last 20 "New Releases" on startup (but that's just my use case). Random does me no good ever!

in my TV Shows the "On Deck" function only shows 5 iteams (one big and 4 small covers) and there are no [...] below to expand that.
But my Web "on deck" function currently combines 7-8 episodes of TV shows.
Is this intentional or is this a bug / missing feature ?

I believe this is because Plex/Web is showing in progress movies inside On Deck? If you were to remove them, would that equal the same number you see in the Xbox One application? If you have more than 5 TV Episodes, you should see the "..." button.

How do you view whether it's transcoding or change the video / sound quality settings?
Something isn't working for me either. Every time I try to run MKV or AVI files on the X1 app I got the error "An error occurred while attempting to play this video".
I'm running Plex Server version 0.9.10.3.665 and everything works fine when I try to watch the files om both smart tvs that I have at home.
I installed Plex Server on my Mac Mini just for testing purposes and works just fine with X1. Still getting the same error quem the app is connect to the server on my Synology NAS. Any official word on this?

You can see if it's transcoding via Plex/Web, as seen in that previous form that you quoted. As for changing the video / sound quality settings, they are available during video playback after selecting the "..." button.

Really like the design of the app, nice work :)
I'm having trouble getting anything to play though, after hitting play it just leaves me with a black screen. Tried different Videos with a bunch of different audio/video formats, nothing showed up... all of them work on my phone, tablet and pc.
Updates my server, have the latest xb1 preview.
Which part of which log would be needed for possible troubleshooting? Thanks

I'm sorry you're experiencing this... it might be best to create a separate forum post for specific bugs, it's hard to answer everyone in a single forum like this :) It sounds like the video can not be direct played by the Xbox One application and is attempting to transcoder. I'm also guessing that your Synology NAS is ARM based and therefore can't transcode? Would that make sense?

I checked again and I believe this might be a real bug.
When I have exactly 6 unwatched Episodes the [...] do not show. (Though on the Dashboard only 5 are visible)
If I have 7, 8, 9, .... the [...] do show.

I looked on the Plex server under the web section and I can't find anything that resembles the screenshot can you confirm the placement in the menus please
Also, I've played a movie and if I select the smaller button with the three little lines on it (left of X), all I get is Switch User, Settings and Help. There's nothing under settings. If I stop the movie and look at where the general play, watched icon and synopsis are, I can see the ... icon, but all I get there is Related Movies, More with Dramas and More with certain actors etc.
Nice work though - very pleased with it being on the consoles.

All I can say is that it's coming "soon"... (and I really do mean soon). I'm sorry I can't give a more definite response.

My Install Experience and advice for those that are slightly new-
I was getting server not found because the version isn't supported... yada yada, same as some others posted.
Go to your settings on your computer media server and click on SERVER. If you are not running 9.10 then you need to go to the plex site AND log in. After you login then when you go to downloads you need to CLICK ON PLEX PASS DOWNLOADS. Public downloads is highlighted by default and if you don't click on PLEX PASS DOWNLOADS then you will not get the latest version that you need. I missed that there was even a "button" to click on there because it really isn't too obvious.
After my server was updated on the computer the Xbox ONE Plex app still would not find my server. I shut down the Xbox ONE and restarted. When I clicked on the Plex app it found the server immediately and everything started working fine!
It has been transcoding the few movies I've tried and my cpus are at 100 percent, but I'm pretty happy with the format and functionality of things so far. Thanks Plex Peeps.
Very nice work for an initial releaseand will be even better when MS include the native video format support.
One thing for me that's desperately lacking for people who have larger libraries is a search function. Jump to Letter is good as an interim, but a search would be the cream.

The black screen issue may be caused from an existing Xbox One.xml file. I had to delete mine and reinstall plex and now all my movies play.
Plex is working great for me on my xbox one looks like a solid release. Will you be adding the ability to filter out watched episodes soon?
