Is there On Deck support?
Is there On Deck support?
Yeah there is. For me it seems to be only showing TV shows:

On PHT I have plenty of movies under 'On Deck', so maybe this is a bug.
Not in front of the app right now, but IIRC there’s a section on the far right of the main screen called “Continue Watching” that contains your On Deck movie selection.
I can see 'Continue Watching' inside the movie section, but not on the Plex home screen. My home screen has 'On Deck' (TV episodes), 'Recently Added Movies' and 'Recently Added Television'.
For those looking for a remote the Xbox one glass remote does work just fine.

Thanks! Will give that a go.
Maybe not the right threa to ask but…
What is the ETA for the 360 version?
Cheers and thanks for the awesome sauce!!!

By "remote" I was talking about the ability to browse your content on a phone or tablet and then "connect to" and play it on the Xbox One app.
Smartglass has a virtual Xbox Controller. Not really the same thing.
A Plex dev responded to me saying they are working on the "Connect to" function for the Xbox App. This is good news.
Great work so far team. This is an excellent first release!
Feedback:
- On Deck (home screen) does not include in progress TV shows or movies. I think it should, just as Plex Web does. You want to be able to quickly pick up where you left off. This has been brought up earlier in this thread, but worth repeating.
- It would be great to have a visual progress indicator on the poster artwork. I realize you added this to the detail view (dynamic, looks great!), but it would also improve upon the current half-circle in the browse view.
- I suggest a reordering of the movie view, from left to right:
- Continue Watching (first thing you want to do is pick up where you left off)
- Recently Released Movies
- Top Unwatched Movies
- [Random Category - e.g.: Top Movies in Biographical Film]
- [Random Category - e.g.: Top Movies by Steven Spielberg]
- Recently Viewed Movies (how often do people watch the same movie they just watched again..? Perhaps if they have kids...)
Questions on Privacy:
- Does Microsoft have access to our data?
- Do any Plex-related transactions flow through Microsoft while the app is running?
Thanks! Again - fantastic work to everyone involved.
I echo these sentiments…incredible initial release. I also would like answers however in regards to the privacy aspects.
What exactly is being shared with Plex and/or MS during launch of the application and more importantly during playback? Thanks again…this is awesome (goodbye Samsung tv app)
*cross posted*
Overall, I am very happy with the app! I've been waiting since the rumors started back in April and this is an answer to my prayers, so thank you Plex team!
As far as what's next, obviously I'd like to see my other libraries (music), access my channels, and view extras / trailers. Those all seem like things that should eventually make it over, but as far as actual new features go; I really like the options menu on movies that gives options like "More by *Sam Raimi*" or "More with *Ben Affleck*" but I wish I could filter my library by actor/director and not have to find a movie I know someone's a part of and go through the sub menu. On that note, it would be nice to have instead of just "Browse" as an option, for it to say "Browse by" and then give the option to select by Date added, Resolution, Actor, etc. Also, voice as an input could change the way I use Plex, as Kinect is awesome. Some voice input ideas that Tyson had teased that I was most excited for: "Xbox, Turn on subtitles." "Xbox, Change the language to French." "Xbox, Go to the start of the movie." "Xbox, Go to the start of this chapter." "Xbox, Go back 30 seconds." Lastly, I really like the "Top movies by ..." and "Top movies in *genre*" sections on the dash, but it would be really neat if there was a drop down menu with it that let me pick the particular genre/actor/director and have it show me the top movies in that category (based on Rotten Tomato score maybe?)
I hope I don't sound at all unappreciative, as I LOVE the app. Once the rest of the basics are packaged in, it will almost definitely be my favorite client, so thanks again, Plex!
(I second One Guide integration as well, almost forgot :))
Thanks guys for strong initial release and Im quite happy with what Im seeing and had no problems with the installation.
Here are some initial comments/observations I had:
- Show a section “by folder” would be helpful since I have some home video sections
- Subtitle/audio selection before the video starts
- The video playback controls could be more “refined” (very very basic at the moment)
- Playback with subtitles is choppy (similar to what I experience on my appletv with plexconnect) <= I guess this has to do with transcoding!?
For now I will continue to use plexconnect since 95% of my videos are MKVs and my synology NAS cannot handle transcoding.
How long after MS releases the October update (hopefully with MKV support) will it take for Plex to also support direct play of MKV and most other major codecs?
I can see 'Continue Watching' inside the movie section, but not on the Plex home screen. My home screen has 'On Deck' (TV episodes), 'Recently Added Movies' and 'Recently Added Television'.
My bad, you're right it isn't on the home screen, only in the movie section.

I could be wrong, again, but my Plex app is displaying in progress TV shows, it just doesn't show the "in progress" circle indicator icon over the cover art. For example I'm re-watching The Wire (best show ever) and had to stop half way through S03E08 this afternoon. That episode is now the first episode listed On Deck on the main home screen.
As an aside, On Deck movies is a weird category for me, and maybe I'm an edge case, but it's often filled with stuff that I just wanted to re-watch a scene or two from and just forgot to toggle the watched indicator. It isn't often that I stop half way through a movie. Like I said, maybe that's just me, and people have a legit use for On Deck movies. But I like it where it is now.
Which sort of brings up another point. Maybe the best solution, if this is even possible, is to have these sub-section orders as a configurable option. You're never going to get these orders perfect for everyone. If that isn't possible Ben's suggestion for re-ordering is probably the best way to go.
Well what you are talking about is not a remote at all. I do hope the integrate the plexpass app for Android though. It would be great to just treat my xbox like a chromecast.By "remote" I was talking about the ability to browse your content on a phone or tablet and then "connect to" and play it on the Xbox One app.

Look in your top UI bar, near the clock for the icon, you can shutdown the server from there by clicking on the icon. I'm running Ubuntu now so can't remember what the mac icon looks like, but it's not hard to figure it out. Shut it down, then drag new version into your applications folder, and start up..
I think You cannot make bigger subtitles :( I hope it will be fixed later.
