[FIXED] My server is messed up

Hello,

I have a serious problem with my setup. I have Plex running on my MacBook Pro and everything has been fine till now. Now every time Plex scans my library for new items, it refreshes all the metadata for all my TV shows, movies etc! As a result I lose all the posters and changes I’ve made to the movies.

If I restore the old metadata (using Time Machine) my library looks fine again, but once I click “Scan library files” in order to load the latest movies, it refreshes all the metadata again!

The movies and TV shows are stored on an HDD that is attached on my Mac and I can play the movies through Plex, so it “knows” they haven’t been relocated or deleted. What can I do? I don’t want to lose the work I’ve done through the years.

Do you still have the scanner.log file after one of these events?

Thank you so much for trying to help, MovieFan.Plex. Thankfully I was able to restore an even earlier backup, I scanned the library and everything was fine. I optimised the database, cleaned the bundles and emptied the trash and now I will back it up!

I checked scanner.log file as you proposed but it couldn’t help me.
