After the last server update it seems Xplay can’t play anymore. I’ve been using Xplay the last two years because the official LG Plex app wasn’t able to play 4k HDR Atmos files with subtitles and Xplay was.
I tried play a simple 720p x265 file with subtitles and it is unwatchable due to the rebuffering. Other media files display the same issue.
For now I rolled back to a previous server version, but I hope the LG client will get some more attention now the alternative has passed away…

Plex client for LG needs more love.
@ markus101 do you know if will be ever possible to finally use 100% hw capabilities of our small tv fro 4k, hevc etc videos avoiding trascoding or optimization (that will reduce resolution and quality).
It is in a theoretical roadmap? Because I don’t want to change tv o buy a smartbox when I know that my TV can reproduce those file. Maybe for me will be simple to move to Emby.

Its terrible really and to date its stopping me from upgrading to Plex Pass out of protest. Currently I’m using Xplay but also now trialling Emby, which in fact I’m beginning to like very much. The fact you can download subtitles on the free version says something…cough…cough
