I have a plex server running on a Windows 10 desktop
I also have a rather large music collection that has a LOT of FLAC files.
When I look at the music library from either the Plex web client or the Plex ROKU app, folders with flac files aren’t even shown and thus I don’t have access to a large portion of my music.
From what I’ve read, PLEX is capable of playing FLAC files.
I’m not sure if I’ve got something wrong or missed something in setup.
So, I don’t know where to begin with trouble shooting…
Is your music just stored as folders? Plex doesn’t organize that way. PMS prefers the artist/album/tracks structure. It’s possible your files are all grouped into one random album.
OK checked it out… But some of it gets recognized and some does not… Would there be a reason for this? I am talking about FLAC… Just want to make sure before I go through renaming all teh files…
hard to say without having specifics of what isn’t being matched, how its its named/organized, and what the library settings are.
you may want to review your library settings to ensure they match what you desire.
unfortunately, the fact is unless your organization very closely matches what plex requires per that support article, you are going to have a difficult time.
As mentioned, Plex organized music as Artist/Album/Track. It’s possible your files got organized incorrectly, but all your files should have been found and assigned somewhere.
These are actual .flac files, right? Not just flac in some other container?
