I’ve had a bit of a search for this but can’t pull up anything relevant. Since I recently updated Plex on my server (it’s on the latest now) or possibly the 3rd Oct app update, I cannot get it to stream FLAC files to my iPhone or iPad while they’re on the same network. MP3 files work fine. If I take my phone out, or switch my WiFi off and let it use cell data, PlexTranscode.exe kicks in as you’d expect with an unsupported format (i.e. FLAC on iOS) and playback works OK. For some reason it doesn’t attempt to transcode when the devices are on the local network, and the player on the iPhone or iPad just freezes until I choose another item to play.
I tried turning off Direct Play and Direct Streaming hoping this would help force it to transcode - nope. I re-added the files to a new library in case there was some issue there - same results. I guess it’s presenting the FLAC to the player?

Just to reiterate, the file is fine, this is affecting all FLAC files I have. Don’t really get how it appears it wants to transcode but fails and yet it’s happy enough to do it remotely, just not on the LAN.
same problem here, i dont know if its the IOS 10 though, as i have two different plex servers. One that i havent updated in a while, and new docker plex that has the exact same problem you describe with the latest plex server docker
I get no direct play music profile exists for http/flac/flac
