FLAC files with CUE?

+1 Plex guys anyone hear please?

Yes definitely add this

upvote for this feature

One more vote for FLAC + CUE support.

Guys, It takes very little effort to separate out the individual files from a FLAC with .CUE. In fact, there is a FREE app in the Microsoft store called CUE Splitter.

If I come across a FLAC/CUE - I simply split it out, check the cover art and file naming using MP3Tag and then add it to my PLEX.

Then I delete the combined FLAC and CUE

There are advantages to flac + cue storage. Supporting this in plex is identical in technical difficulty to the process of splitting the flac except it prevents thousands of users from having to manually split (and generally reencode) their flac files, so there’s no reason not to support it in plex.

Enlighten me because I see no real advantages at all, especially if you want to copy a single song out to a different folder. You still need to split them.

So what advantages are there?

You got me there ┐('ļ½ž`;)ā”Œ
I’m no audiophile, but a lot of flac is distributed that way, so I figure there’s a reason.
One thing I’ve gleamed in my recent exposure to this dilemma is that you can’t split flac at arbitrary frames, so a split flac may be missing a split second of the track or include a split second of another. Then again, there’s unflac, ā€œ Frame accurate audio image + cue sheet splitting,ā€ so I’m at least partially uninformed here.
Regardless, there’s tons of music distributed like this, and if it’s easy enough to split into tracks then it’s also easy enough to support playback using flac + cue, as several audio players do.

Just thought of one, that probably only an audiophile would care about. Optimal cuts between tracks. Anything you do with separate files adds some overhead or potential advanced cutting based on some algorithm, but a flac rip of a whole album includes the spacing between tracks as intended.

Another Up by me for the CUE support

+1 Please add it!

Already passed 9 YEARS since this feature request. WHERE IS CUE SUPPORT?

Yea to CUE support! Unfortunately, based on the age of this topic, probably makes sense for me to get started splitting a bookshelf of albums.

Keeping this request alive.

+1 for a very long requested feature. Come on PLEX Team spend us this

Do it Plex Team

I assure you. Gapless FLAC playback does not work with ANY Plex player.

it seems to me that the gapless works decently … even in case of transcoding
