I’m using the latest version of plex for Synology and I’m a premium pass user.
I have a problem with my plex on Synology server. When playing audio files sometimes the track jumps directly to a certain point in the file. After extensive testing I can see that when this happens the playhead is returning to the last played position of the track. Can anyone guide me to a solution here? Is there a setting that can be changed? I reckon someone else will have had this issue before. It occurs from both the plex iOS app, Apple TV, and sonos, so I reckon I’ve managed to isolate plex as the problem area.
The plot thickens. Not in a good way. I updated my disk station to the latest version and manually updated plex. I noted that the plex page was downloading the wrong version of its own software! Anyway, now I’ve updated, the plex app sees my music but doesn’t play any of it. Same story for sonos. This is poor. How can a simple update break like this? Actually, one track played one time and now it doesn’t any more. Plex app is reporting that it can’t find the file. Sonos that the plex server connection had been lost.
Looks like something changed with permissions. Either Plex is not running the way it used to, permissions-wise, or Synology diskstation has changed. I changed permissions to the music directory to Read and everything worked.
The ‘Store track progress’ was switched back on again after I updated Plex. What a pain in the ■■■■ this all is
