Flickering picture/signal issue

Hello!

Today i received a raspberry pi!

I installed the latest (.33) rasplex and hooked it up to my Onkyo tx-nr414 receiver which is then connected to my philips tv.

CEC doesnt work. It says it finds the nr414 down in the right corner at boot up but then I can just not control it with the remote. But this is not the end of the world, i will get some other IR remote.

The issue is that the picture keeps going on and off, it seems like whenever i click up or down in the menu the signal to tv goes away and then comes back. (I navigate with plex on android as remote).

I connected the pi directly to my tv and there is no such issue anymore.

If i navigate to the preference/system menu the picture goes away completely but comes back after i press Back on the remote.

I currently run with a 800ma power supply. A 1200ma one is incoming hopefully tomorrow but i dont know if lack of power is the issue?!

Any ideas or tips on how i can troubleshoot this?

Have you set the port on your onkyo to passthrough?

The only option I found was HDMI Through which passes the audio to the TV if on. I've tried both on and off. I've also juggled with all the other options i found both in the receiver and in rasplex without success.

I just watched a movie on the pi and the picture & audio kept going on and off randomly throughout the entire movie. :(

I had this kind of behaviour because of an inadequate power supply. Switched to my ipad 5.1V 2.1A charger and all is fine now.

The new power supply solved the issue :)
