When I view by folder, all new additions from all libraries are added to the folder view of my other videos library. I do not have overlap in the paths, they are not subfolders of each other but by other videos folder view contains new movies that were added since last time I updated the library. Once I refresh they get removed and back to normal. There’s also no overlap with my downloads folder. This has been an issue for years and it would be great if this could get resolved. If nothing else is there a way I can force an update to Other Videos when anything is imported to other libraries?
When you view by folder, make sure you click on ‘Library’ at the top center of the window.
It could be that your browser is not updating the page quickly enough to display the correct page and you are at first seeing the ‘Recommended’ page which contains recently added Movies etc., at least until you refresh the page.
After the page refresh the browser may be displaying the correct ‘Library’ page.
Another possibility is that your browser is not properly retaining your settings.
Try using other browsers until you can narrow down the exact cause.
Just a FYI, if you are local to your NAS, then NEVER use Quick Connect to open Plex with. Quick Connect is intended for remote access of your NAS, that is why it is found in DSM Control Panel > Connectivity > External Access.
Using Quick Connect could introduce issues such as the above, due to network lag etc…
Always open Plex/Web by typing in http://NAS-IP-Address:32400 or if you are away from your home use https://app.plex.tv/
