Plex is FANTASTIC at handling real TV shows and Movies.
It unfortunately shoots itself in the foot when handling other types of media that are best served in their original filename and folder structure.
I’ve tried the “Home Videos” and “Local Media Scraper” options but both ignore folder structure. It makes me miss the XBMC/Kodi approach / flexibility.
This questions is just a last stab at whether there is a setting in Plex that allows us to browse the original folder structure, or whether I’ll have to use a different app to handle non-library media? Like Air Video Server HD.
What client are you using? Plex has had a folder view for libraries as long as I can remember. In the PMP/Web app when you’re viewing a library, just click on the “Movies” pop-down menu and select “Folders”
I can’t find a folder view anywhere in the web app or in the windows media player. It’s referred to in the documentation at https://support.plex.tv/articles/200392126-using-the-library-view/ as being under the grid / list / summary options at the top right but it doesn’t appear for me (I do have a folder view in the ios app for Other Videos, but notfor the same library in the web app). Is there an option that needs to be enabled?
